Fascinated with this book!
So I just discovered a new book. It’s called, Cicely Tyson, JUST AS I AM. It’s a beautiful rendition of a live well lived, and I am just getting started. In all honesty, I have not had the privilege to witness the grace of this woman on stage or in film. My understanding is that she’s been sharing a part of herself for six decades and now in her ninth decade she is finally writing her story..and I quote, “ I am a woman who, at long last, has something meaningful to say.” I am enthralled in her tapestry of wonderment and truthfulness. She is so eloquent as a person that I would be remiss if I didn’t admit that class is in session. No pun intended. The intro by Viola Davis was delectable. I felt transported back to a time that was unfamiliar to me yet recognizable at the same time. Evidence of the depth of character Ms. Tyson projected on to those who listened with their heart to what she was saying and doing.
