Fascinated with this book!

So I just discovered a new book.    It’s called, Cicely Tyson, JUST AS I AM.

It’s a beautiful rendition of a live well lived, and I am just getting started. In all honesty, I have not had the privilege to witness the grace of this woman on stage or in film.

My understanding is that she’s been sharing a part of herself for six decades and now in her ninth decade she is finally writing her story..and I quote, “ I am a woman who, at long last, has something meaningful to say.”

I am enthralled in her tapestry of wonderment and truthfulness. She is so eloquent as a person that I would be remiss if I didn’t admit that class is in session. No pun intended.

The intro by Viola Davis was delectable. I felt transported back to a time that was unfamiliar to me yet recognizable at the same time. Evidence of the depth of character Ms. Tyson projected on to those who listened with their heart to what she was saying and doing.

She planted a “mighty seed.”

And finally Ms. Tyson takes you by the hand and invite you into “this life” where we should all endeavor to go. A journey that is defined and explained from the roots, not the ornamentation or decorations, her truth.

I love her inquisitive nature. I think we are created to live our lives in such a way that we never stop learning or discovering who we are in our journey.

Through the eyes of a child’s heart we are and could be constantly amazed every day that we’re given to living on this extraordinary planet we call 🌏.

~Like a tree planted by the waters,

I shall not be moved. I like that.

I love trees! They are so magnificent and whenever I sit underneath one, I am restored.

Live and love…always. Embrace life with two hands or no hands at all. Just live it to the fullest. Give, and give and give. As Denzel often says, “I’ve never seen a U-Haul behind a hearse.

May I add, you never will.
